    Student Diversity Noted
    Posted on 08/08/2016

Have you noticed the remarkable variety of families at our school?
"Using a common calculation to measure diversity, Sanislo Elementary in West Seattle turns out to be the most racially mixed public school in the state," according to Seattle Times "FYI Guy" Gene Balk in this article: http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/data/west-seattles-sanislo-elementary-most-racially-diverse-public-school-in-the-state/
You can also click here to download a PDF of the article.

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction's "Diversity Index" tool was embedded in the article to allow anyone in the state to compare schools. It is part of a wealth of public information about schools available from the state.

Most importantly, student diversity means that Sanislo students learn from one another in ways that prepare them for a diverse America. "We the people" really do represent a wide cross section of the world's cultures and traditions.

Come see -and taste- it for yourself!

The Sanislo Family Multicultural Potluck on Sept 22, 6-8PM  is a delicious way to share and enjoy the All-American community we're building at our "little school with big ideas."
